Three Rivers District in South West Hertfordshire straddles the north west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. The district is a mixture of beautiful countryside, villages and small towns. The area has a diverse range of businesses and is a centre for the film industry with Warner Brothers at Leavesden forming part of a studio cluster, along with Elstree and Pinewood a short drive away.


We are now looking for a Housing Advisor to join our team on a full-time basis for a 22 month fixed term contract.

The Role


As a Housing Advisor, you will provide a professional, high-quality service to members of the public seeking to engage with our Housing Service.


Acting as the first point of contact for the Housing Options Team, you’ll provide initial housing advice and assessment regarding the procurement and allocation of temporary accommodation.


Liaising with temporary housing customers, you’ll respond to enquiries, engage with housing providers and monitor temporary households to ensure charges and bills are paid.


Additionally, you will:


- Assist with processing online Housing Register applications

- Support customers throughout the Choice Based Lettings (CBL) process

- Ensure the Council’s Home Connections system is kept up to date

- Make referrals to relevant charities and other statutory and support agencies


About You


To be considered as a Housing Advisor, you will need:


- Experience working with members of the public

- The ability to deal with customers in potentially stressful and emotive circumstances

- A realistic understanding of the needs of customers needing housing assistance

- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle


A basic/enhanced DBS check will be carried out for this post.
