Full Job Description

  • Planning and delivery of Undergraduate, Post Graduate and Foundation programmes in Accounting and Finance

  • Creating assignment briefs, marking/assessing assignments, examinations, and assessment tasks.

  • Providing timely and constructive feedback to students, conducting all assessment activities in line with the university's quality processes.

  • Working cooperatively and collaboratively with other colleagues to support academic programme delivery.

  • Making appropriate use of technology to support learning and teaching, (e.g. Moodle VLE)


  • If appointed as a Visiting Lecturer, teaching will be allocated on an hourly basis. Successful applicants will be contacted when their expertise is required during the course of the academic year. The number of hours available will be subject to course requirements and may be offered at short notice. The hourly rate of pay for this role varies dependant on the type of work completed. Please see Appendix One of the associated job description for more information.
    Relevant subject expertise is essential. Teaching experience and/or a teaching qualification is also preferred.

  • A Masters qualification in a relevant subject

  • Experience in planning, teaching, and assessing courses in Higher Education or experience in delivering professional education or training, with an ability to express ideas and arguments with clarity and enthusiasm.

  • An ability to support students both academically and pastorally

  • An excellent standard of spoken and written communication and academic writing, coupled with the ability to develop these skills in students.

  • Ability to work both individually and as a member of a teaching team.
