Full Job Description

We are helping to support schools over Essex with staff, we need experienced Catering Assistants to work on an ad-hoc basis as and when needed. You will ideally have experience working as a Catering Assistant, this does not have to be in a school setting!,

  • Responsible for basic food preparation - preparing, serving and clearing up

  • Clearing away and washing up after lunch and other functions

  • To ensure that cleanliness is maintained within the facilities and are adequately stocked

  • To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations

  • Ensuring the guidance for those with special diets and on allergen labelling is adhered to

  • To use powered cleaning and catering equipment in accordance with the relevant safety requirements

  • Good customer service skills - serving students and staff

  • During service times, to ensure that tables and counters are as clean as reasonably practicable and adequately stocked

  • Report immediately any accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible
