Full Job Description

To hold a position of authority within the supervisory structure of the company, leading, motivating and developing the area team to achieve the plan through the best use of material, labour and machinery resources, to optimise yield and to reduce waste within the area, driving a right first time culture. To effectively support your immediate Area Leader in respect of performance related issues. To promote a friendly and effective working environment, having particular regard to reinforcing the organisation's vision based on team, food and customer service.

In brief, some of the duties will include:

· Conduct all necessary start-up and shut down procedures, including safety checks and handovers whilst also ensuring efficient break controls are implemented

· Work with the relevant departments to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime, with quick turnaround.

· Take ownership of the area, machinery, processes, products and shift members to enable KPI's to be achieved and to help establish a lean manufacturing environment..

· Ensure procedural compliance is adhered to at all time relating to the process relevant to the area, maintaining set quality standards are met, whilst working with the Technical and Process Department.

· Develop the team to take personal responsibility for producing quality products and adhering to specifications and driving volume standards.

· Involvement with shift handover as communication at this point is critical for the shifts production.

· Management of potential conduct issues within the departments team, i.e. identifying a member of staff who is not fit to work

· Involvement each day with the health and safety management within the department, including accident reporting / investigations.

· Conducting regular line safety checks (daily)

· Training of staff - on the job training will be required for all new starters and the relevant training documentation must be completed and signed off by the area supervisor. Assist in the development and training to develop a multi-skilled workforce.

· Countersign compliance documentation and verify that information is accurate

· Minimise line downtime / maximise OEE

· Ensure all Operatives follow hygiene and cleanliness procedures at all times, to include correct usage of the relevant PPE for the area.

· Championing initiatives which will ensure that all team members are working collectively to achieve successful results to include agreeing and implementing development action plans for line staff to meet performance targets.

· Ensuring Operatives have awareness of relevant CCP's in their areas and that these are adhered to at all times.

· A minimum of 2 years chilled food manufacture

· Experience in sauce or soup an advantage

· Hands on experience of managing and supervising a busy production process and workforce

· A hardworking and dedicated professional who 'gets the job done'

· Proven experience of the efficient and effective running of FMCG production

· Proficient computer skills, with ERP system experience,
