Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a compassionate Support Worker to join a brand new team to provide compassionate support for a young lady in her early 20's who lives in her own home within the Havant area. Your primary purpose will be to support this individual to live a meaningful, happy life, empowering her to pursue hobbies and activities, support her health and wellbeing and conduct person-centre care. This particular individual enjoys activities such as going to a day service, walking, shopping and visiting family and at home enjoys listening to music and watching her favourite programmes on TV, therefore an interest in these would be advantageous., You're an empathetic and resilient Support Worker who can display a high level of professionalism, deeply committed to assisting people with additional needs who can present challenging behaviour. You're compassionate, observant, patient and confident in handling potentially difficult situations. You are skilled in monitoring changes in mood and developing techniques to calm and de-escalate. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of complex needs including cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and epilepsy and have a clear understanding around the importance of recording and reporting information, as necessary. You're able to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families and always adopt a person-centred approach. Experience of peg feeding and stoma care will be a distinct advantage.
