Full Job Description

Do you have experience of inspecting and licensing houses with an in depth knowledge of Local Authority enforcement procedures? if yes, this is the role for you.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Housing Department where you'll inspect dwellings and houses in multiple occupation in accordance with Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and the Decent Homes Standard. This will include complex preparatory work, inspecting and certifying works in default, inspecting and licensing premises, resolving disputes and undertaking associated technical and financial work including arranging interim and final stage payments.

You'll prepare cases for prosecution and present evidence in court and Residential Property Tribunals.

You'll investigate complex service requests concerning premises and persons, instigate action in accordance with regulation, including consultation with professionals, Departments and Agencies.

To be successful in this role you will have the experience of working within an Environmental Health (Private Sector Housing) role.

You'll have the ability to analyse complex situations eg, inspect and measure premises, evaluate building tenders, compile evidence and witness statements.

You'll have the ability to produce written reports incorporating professional recommendations and judgements.

You must have in depth knowledge of Building construction and Building services.
