Full Job Description
We are a leading biotechnology company specializing in the development and manufacturing of innovative biological products. Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst to join our dynamic team in Newbury on a one year fixed-term contract. You will be working in a quality lead environment to provide full laboratory diagnostics and conduct a variety of QC tests to ensure that all laboratory products are up to standard and meet company schedule deadlines.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 10 AM to 6 PM options available (Flexible Hours) + Occasional Weekend Day (Once per Month on Rota).
The Role
Delivering work in line with the laboratory work schedule and within allotted deadlines whilst following
and adhering to procedures by;
- Receiving, isolating, identifying and storing bacterial pathogens
- Performing laboratory diagnostic testing, QC testing on the antigen and final product
- Performing molecular and serological analysis of isolates
- Initiating production of antigen.
- Flagging issues affecting schedule delivery.
- Liaison / Communication with other members of staff / departments.
- Reporting any potential or identified issues to your Supervisor / Manager
- Following and adhering to all procedures
- Accurately recording all performed tasks and results.
- Assist in any Quality Control investigations and laboratory development projects as they arise.
- Compliance to Quality standards and Health & Safety Regulations
- Maintaining training records.
- Maintaining effective working relationships to make sure that the laboratory is running smoothly.
- Maintaining / Cleaning and use of laboratory equipment.
- Removal of bio-hazard waste and cleaning of laboratory as required.
- Highlighting and maintaining stock levels of consumables, sterile equipment, test reagents and
- Good practical skills and the knowledge of microbiology/ laboratory techniques and processes;
- The ability to meet targets and deadlines;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good accuracy and attention to detail;
- Good time management, planning, organising and recording skills;
