We have an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning company as Regulatory Compliance Specialist in our Global Regulatory & Validation Services (GRV) team. This is a global role with a primary focus on providing compliance expertise and support and helping to shape the future of the company with respect to the evolving compliance requirements for our products.

Reporting to the Global Regulatory Compliance Manager, this is a key role within the Global Regulatory Compliance team and is part of the growing Strategic Business Development Function for Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS). The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be responsible for supporting the compliance of products and services within the company, with an initial focus on WML branded pumps products ensuring it is both current and comprehensive.

They will take a lead role in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of a Global Compliance Framework which will define all relevant regulations, directives and standards required for each WMFTS product. Another key role for this position is to work closely with the Global Engineering team to ensure we are achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance.

This role will focus on:

  • Providing our Cardrew Innovation centre based NPI teams with compliance support to allow them to successfully deliver new products, with a clear focus initially on WML branded products.

  • Develop as a subject matter expert for key sales territories' compliance requirements for products covered by the WML brand, for example UKCA, CE (Machinery directive, EMC, ATEX), UL, CSA, WEEE, REACH, RoHS etc.

  • Proactively monitoring updates to key compliance regulations and their associated harmonised and/or non-harmonised standards, and developing strategies and overseeing action plans to ensure continued compliance.

  • Working with the NPI delivery teams to coordinate certification with external bodies such as TUV, gathering technical data, physical samples and ensuring that the certification body has all that is required to complete their certification activities.

  • Working with our Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SME) and legal team develop standard compliance-based phrases and statements, to support the development of a standardised WMFTS approach to global compliance communications both internally and externally.

  • Working with Global Engineering, Global Regulatory & Validation Services (GRV) and across Strategic Business Development, (SBD) to develop, introduce and maintain the SBD Global Compliance Framework.

  • Collaborating with Global Engineering and GRV to ensure regulatory claims can be substantiated for all products.

  • Working with Global Engineering, GRV and across SBD to ensure WMFTS products and processes comply with industry specifications, standards, regulations and directives as required.

  • Collaborating with Global Engineering and GRV to develop and maintain appropriate processes and policies that aid effective and efficient delivery and maintenance of compliant products and services.

  • Developing and refining our regulatory processes through the WMFTS continuous improvement programme.

  • Following all the relevant policies and processes required to deliver on the purpose of the job.

    A degree in a Scientific or Engineering subject, or equivalent experience in a Scientific/Engineering background.

  • Considerable experience of Regulatory Compliance

  • Strong IT skills including experience of working with complex databases.Proficiency with SQL and MS Power Apps preferable.

  • Excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to build good business relationships across a wide variety of cultures.

  • Experience in taking complex data or information and clearly communicating this information simply for stakeholders.

  • A can-do attitude with a focus on delivery and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Curiosity, problem solving skills and a desire to learn.
