Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a friendly team working within our Central region and based at our office in Solihull on a permanent basis. The purpose of the role will include;

  • Day-to-day management of the Assistant Management Accountant and Accounts Payable team with responsibility for their training, coaching and development.

  • Ownership of all aspects of financial reporting including delivering month end, prepare/ review of journals, reconciliations, flash management accounts and monthly management accounts with variance analysis for the Region & JV's.

  • Develop and maintain necessary controls, policies and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient financial management environment within the Region.

  • Prepare the short-term cashflow forecast for the Region & JV's with variance analysis.

  • Review supplier/ subcontractor payment runs.

  • Assist in all statutory deadlines including managing the year end audit process & preparation of the JV financial statements.

  • Working alongside the Land, Technical, Commercial and Sales teams to update the appraisals on a monthly basis, providing robust challenge to any material movements.

  • Assist in the preparation of the finance section of the monthly regional & JV board pack.

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly profit forecast.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget pack.

  • Project work including enhancing the use of IT systems e.g. COINS across the Region.

  • Support the Finance Director on ad-hoc tasks

    ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified;

  • Strong academic background;

  • Excellent attention to detail;

  • Good influencing and negotiation skills;

  • Proven leadership and staff management skills;

  • Excellent communication, relationship management and presentation skills;

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
