Full Job Description

This role will be working internally on a major development Project for a client.

  • Strong background in Azure data engineering. Experience in data warehousing, data lakes, and data integration. Experience working with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics. Develop and maintain data models that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis, including defining database schemes, data structures, and optimising data access patterns.

  • Expertise in SQL

  • Python/R knowledge/ Knowledge of other programming languages

  • Strong experience with data Integration and ETL Tools: ability to design, build, and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, including databases, APIs, files, into data storage systems or data warehouses, ensuring smooth data flow and efficient data processing.

  • Data Pipeline Development. Ability to design and construct end-to-end data pipelines, efficiently moving and processing data from diverse sources to storage and analytical destinations, enabling actionable insights.

  • Data Quality and Testing. Understanding data quality frameworks and testing methodologies to validate data accuracy and reliability, and ensuring high-quality, trustworthy data for decision-making and reporting this as the important Azure data factory skills.

  • Data Security and Compliance. Implement data security measures, access controls, and data encryption techniques to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

  • Database Administration Skills. Proficiency in administering Azure databases, encompassing performance tuning, backup and recovery, and routine maintenance, ensuring optimal database functionality and reliability.

  • Collaboration and Communication Skills. Collaborate with technical teams to translate project requirements into technical solutions. Communicate complicated concepts, designs, and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Nice to have: Power Apps and Power BI knowledge

  • High level of initiative.

  • Good organizational and analytical abilities.

  • Good communication/presentation skills.

    Duration: 2 - 3 months, initially part time ideally flexible on hours per week as project will start slowly but after a few weeks work can be full time., If salaried, a competitive salary with a 9-day fortnight working pattern and excellent benefits (including Private Healthcare [including dental provision], EAP, Death in Service scheme, Group Pension, Income Protection Scheme (after completion of probationary period) wellbeing allowance and volunteering days. 24 days holiday per year (plus Bank Holidays) rising by 1 day each year to a maximum of 30 days per year and the option to "buy" up to five more days annual leave.
