Country Club for Dogs Manager

Animal Magic Family Pet Retreat is an exclusive members only facility nestled in 2 acres of countryside, on the picturesque outskirts of the village of Oakworth. We host a comprehensive range of pet care services to suit all needs such as doggy day care, dog walking, dog training, home boarding for pets, home visits for pets and weekly dog socialisation meets.

We have a vacancy for an experienced and knowledgeable dog handler required to run our Country Club for Dogs (day care, walking, training and boarding) service.

The position involves the chauffeuring of dogs on the way to and from work across a distance of approximately 40 miles each way, so you would need a reliable car to use for the purpose. A lot of outdoor work is necessary so you must be physically fit, healthy and prepared to brave the elements all year round.

A typical day involves ensuring the dogs safety and happiness, organising and orchestrating an enriching routine with consistent training, writing relevant reports, liasing with our very loyal and lovely customers and executing an effective marketing plan for our pet care services.

You must be energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about working with animals. Punctuality, reliability, dedication and the ability to be one step ahead at all times (with regards to animal safety) are all also important attributes for the right candidate.

Experience with outdoor maintenance is an advantage (grass cutting, fence repairs etc) as we are an exclusive venue which offers various services to the public in addition to our pet care services.

The current working schedule is 29 hours across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with an opportunity to expand the business and therefore increase your hours and earning potential.

Useful Information

• Ideally you will reside in the Clitheroe / Whalley / Great Harwood areas as this is where our Doggy Chauffeur service commences


• Due to the nature of this role (and a desire for it to become a long term position) you will be expected to work a 3 month probation period


• Holidays cannot be taken during school holidays, with the exception of the Christmas period when we are closed for 2 weeks.


• You will need a suitable vehicle insured for business use; E.g. large car / estate.


• You will receive a mileage allowance relevant to where you live


• References must be provided


• This role can be available on a self employed basis.


The starting salary / wage is £21,750.00. You will receive a mileage allowance to cover the costs of using your vehicle; along with performance related bonuses.
