Full Job Description

This role helps enable the Commercial Finance team to work with the wider National Lottery business to stay informed, understand drivers of performance and make decisions which maximise returns to Good Causes. The main area this role serves is Commercial function which includes Marketing, Product (National Lottery Games), CRM and Consumer Insights.,

  • Assistance with weekly trading reporting issued to Senior Leadership


  • Jackpot estimations and scenario planning


  • Assisting the Marketing and Product Finance Managers with the annual budget and quarterly reforecast.


  • Assisting the Finance Reporting Analyst with streamlining, improving existing reports and facilitating the move towards Power BI

  • Business Partnering with Marketing cost centres to understand planned spend, campaigns etc.

  • Preparation of presentations for Steering Committees and other Exec-level meetings.



  • KEY MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Timely reporting and more efficient processes


  • Strong relationships built with stakeholders in Finance and in the wider business


  • Knowledge and understanding of the Commercial team's function including different types of games, marketing approach and drivers of trading performance.


  • Approval of Budget and Reforecasts by the Board

    Highly numerate with ability to analyse, model and interpret data.


  • Excel skills (Lookups, Pivot tables, SUMIF) and data manipulation.


  • Motivated to help make improvements.


  • Experience with BI tools or Accounting Systems an advantage.


  • Studying towards an Accounting qualification or committed to studying as part of this role (study support provided, typically this is ACCA but other qualifications will be considered).
