Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Admin and Business Support Officer to join our Workforce Team. As a member of the Workforce Admin and Business Support unit within the Workforce service, you will provide extensive administrative support to the Social Care Workforce Learning & Development Team and other Social Care Managers regarding HR services and operations.

The Workforce Admin and Business Support department provides support for all services concerning the following key areas:

  • Collaborating with Workforce Development Officers in the Service, offering comprehensive business support in organising and maintaining a diverse range of learning and development events.

  • Undertaking a broad range of administrative tasks, such as typing, photocopying, inputting, and scanning, creating and managing spreadsheets, and producing reports.

  • Inputting and maintaining electronic data systems and carrying out data validation, while also assisting in the provision of data.

  • Acting as a point of contact for Social Care Managers and departmental link officers for Corporate Training functions. The tasks of this role may be carried out in support of any service delivery area and may change.

    Good educational standards (5 GCSE or equivalent) along with technology & software proficiency

  • Strong organisational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.


  • Work Experience Experience of providing administrative support to a large multi-disciplinary team. Experience of being part of a team providing a customer focussed service. Experience of using a computer for word processing and creating / maintaining databases to produce reports. Experience of document management and developing and administering support procedures. Experience of operating filing systems. Experience of specialist software systems including Archibus CAFM / CMIS and Permit to Work systems. Experience of the processes and terms used in the Supply chain and project management. Experience of Financial / Project admin. Experience of drafting letters / memos and minuting meetings. Education / Qualifications A range of GCSE's including English Language and Maths (minimum grade C) or appropriate equivalent, or significant experiential learning. Degree qualification. Microsoft qualification or similar in use of spreadsheets / word processing. Skills / Abilities
    Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Experience of using a variety of IT packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Flexible in approach to work and ability to see tasks through to completion. Ability to deal with conflicting and challenging situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
